HK Eastern toppled Saigon Heat to take 1-0 lead in the championship series. HK Eastern dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Heat's 32. Worth to mention a great performance of Croatian-Australian swingman Dominic Gilbert (198, college: UBC, agency: BIG) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 24 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists. American guard ODarien Bassett (187-1986, college: Troy) contributed with 22 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. HK Eastern's coach used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American guard Evan Gilyard II (178-1998, college: UMKC) answered with 20 points and 4 assists (made all of his seven free throws) and the other American import forward Hassan Thomas (203-1996, college: Emporia St.) added 11 points and 11 rebounds in the effort for Heat.
